Billing Information

Jupiter Health Ashby is a mixed billing practice.

This means there is usually an out-of-pocket cost (gap payment) for your appointment. The gap is the difference between the Medicare rebate and the consultation fee set by the doctor, which may vary depending on the complexity of your visit.

All appointments booked on weekends and public holidays are privately billed, with no bulk billing available on these days.

Discounted Fees May Apply

Discounted fees may be offered to existing patients who hold one of the following:

• Children aged 16 years and under

• Pension Card holders

• Centrelink Concession Card holders

• Health Care Card holders

Monday – Friday

• Standard Consultation: $85.00
• Long Consultation: $135.00

Weekends & Public Holidays

• Standard Consultation: $105.00
• Long Consultation: $165.00

Please be advised that from Thursday 1st January 2026 our public holiday fees will be updated as follows:

• Standard Consultation: $115.00
• Long Consultation: $175.00

Surcharge Fee

As of the 14th July 2025 a card surcharge will apply to the following payment methods:

• Visa (credit and debit/prepaid cards)
• Mastercard (credit and debit/prepaid cards)
• EFTPOS

We do also accept cash payments.

Appointments

We offer Face to Face and Telehealth appointments. Phone consultations for existing patients will incur a gap fee after the Medicare rebate.

Phone consultations for New patients will be privately billed (non-claimable from Medicare). Please call reception on 08 9463 3288 to discuss fees.

Walk-ins

We welcome walk-ins however a fee maybe incurred to accommodate the patient. Normally, we require people to make an appointment. Priority is given to people who have made a booking. Walk -Ins will incur fees.

Other Services

Some consultations or procedures are not fully covered by Medicare and may incur an out-of-pocket gap fee.
The services that may incur an out-of-pocket fee may include:
• Driving Medical Assessments
• Iron Infusion

• Cannabis Appointments – A referral from your referring doctor is required at the time of booking. Please email it to reception@jupiterhealthashby.com.au. If we haven’t received your referral your appointment will need to be reschedule.
• Pre-Employment Medicals
• Implanon Insertion and removal
• Steroid injections

CANCELLATION FEES

We understand that occasionally a patient will be unable to make a scheduled appointment due to unforeseen circumstances. If such unforeseen circumstances arise, please contact the Practice at least 2 hours prior to your appointment time to cancel or re-schedule your appointment. We have patients on a wait list each day so by providing us with notice we can then allocate the cancelled appointment to another patient in need.
If you fail to give the required cancellation notice or do not attend, our practice policy is to charge a non-attendance fee of $40 for a standard appointment or $80 for an extended appointment, these fees are non-claimable from Medicare.
